Surrounded by a community of musical talents in the vibrant Ontario cultural scene, Tears of a Deity brings an original and innovative approach to their work. Tears of a Deity is a metal rock band with an entirely unique sound with hints of inspiration from some of the many greats in Heavy Metal Rock and Roll History. American heavy metal guitarist Dime Bag Darrell inspires much of the guitar work, while elements of Johnny Cash, Metallica and Black Label Society can be felt throughout the Tears of a Deity sound.
Founder, front man and lead guitarist Terry Coad, bassist Troy Robertson, and drummer John Surette are the perfect musical compliment to each-other. The camaraderie, dedication and passion to deliver quality sound and a stellar performance is felt when this Canadian Rock and Roll trio step on stage.

LIVE PERFORMANCE
Tears of a Deity have a hearty list of professional experience performing for a number of reputable venues and high profile events. Tears performed as direct support for heavy metal legends Anvil in September of 2022. Beyond that, Tears performances have rocked out at The Music Hall Oshawa, Tails of the Junction - Toronto, The Atria - Oshawa, The Mustache Club - Oshawa, The Rockpile - Toronto and last but not least, The Edge Lounge in Ajax.

COLLABORATIONS
Tears of a Deity enjoys working collaboratively with other artists, including those of other artistic mediums. Most recently Tears has collaborated with local Body Painter and Makeup Artist Shawna Archer. Shawna is creatively known as Pretty Painted and can be found on our socials utilizing the tears sound to highlight her work.
